Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use FontQuill at customfontmaker.com. By using the Service you agree to them. The Service is provided by FontQuill, United States.

What the Service does

You describe a style, upload lettering or handwriting, or fill in our printable template, and the Service builds an installable font (TTF, OTF and web font files). AI fonts are drawn by AI image models: results vary and may not match a reference or your handwriting exactly. Template fonts are traced from what you wrote.

Your uploads

• Only upload logos, lettering and handwriting that you own or have permission to use.
• Do not use the Service to copy a commercial font or another party’s protected lettering, logo or trademark.
• You are responsible for what you upload and for how you use the fonts you make.

Content rules

You may not use the Service for anything illegal, for impersonation or fraud, or for hateful, harassing or sexual content involving minors. We may refuse a job or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Your fonts and the license

• As far as the law allows, you own the fonts you make. You give us a limited right to process your uploads and fonts only to provide the Service.
• Fonts you download while on the Pro or Studio plan, or after buying a credit pack, may be used for personal and commercial work: print, logos, products for sale, websites, apps, video and social media. The license file in each download states which applies.
• Fonts downloaded on the Starter plan without a credit pack are for personal, non-commercial use. Free sign-up credits make and preview a font; downloading needs a plan or a credit pack.
• You may install a font on any number of devices and embed it in documents, apps and websites, but you may not resell or give away the font files themselves as a font product.
• The LICENSE file in each download states which license applies to that font.

Credits, packs and plans

Fonts are paid for in credits, priced per character: a font with the basic Latin set (English) costs 100 credits, each extra language adds the credits for its letters, and redrawing one character costs 50 credits. The price is shown before you start. Credit packs are one-time purchases. Subscriptions grant credits every month and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices and credits are listed on the pricing page and in our Refund Policy.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a subscription any time from Settings → Billing; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Fonts that fail to be made are never charged. Other refunds follow our Refund Policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change features, models and prices; changes to prices never affect credits you already hold.

Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or abuse the Service, including fraudulent chargebacks.
